SPOTLIGHT SAFETY TRAINING - Central District's Safety Fair

The Central District hosted a Safety Fair for staff with nearly 80% staff participation. The topics included office safety, field safety, vehicle safety, CPR/First Aid/AED and personal health to name a few.  One of the stations involved a website that had staff simulate driving while texting, providing participants with a rating of their performance with and without the distraction - very interesting results.

The Safety Committee generated interest by providing an ice cream social for those that participated (staff earned coins at each station that qualified them for dessert). The leadership team was challenged to donate a few dollars for prizes, which generated $360 used to purchase DEP shirts and gift cards.
