Compliance and Enforcement
The Department coordinates the
statewide air compliance and enforcement activities. The Air Compliance
Assurance (ACA) Section promotes air compliance through the department's
district offices and the approved local program offices.
ACA oversees air
compliance and enforcement data management and provides required data to the US
EPA. Responsibilities also include the coordination of air enforcement statewide
and conducting special projects in air compliance assurance.
An ongoing
ACA project is the Electronic Access System for Inspection
Information Retrieval (EASIIR), an application that retains
downloaded air compliance data on a rugged portable computer
that is taken into the field by the inspector.
EASIIR allows for the
capture of inspection observations and results, as well as the subsequent
uploading of this information directly into the air database. The
application also retains previous inspection history data, eliminating the
need for extensive research and data reentry each year.
