  • Recycle disposable products (such as aluminum, glass, paper and plastics).
  • Reduce the amount of waste you create.
  • Buy durable products and reuse them instead of throwing them away.

  • Buy products that have less packaging.
  • Properly dispose of household paints, solvents, and pesticides (store in airtight containers).
 
  • Use water-based paints.

  • Limit use of oil-based paints, solvents, cleaners, or varnishes (oil based paints contain 3 to 5 times more polluting solvents than water-based, latex paints).
  • Paint with a brush, not a sprayer.
