To CD Home >

Laxsamee Levin, Coordinator

There are now 2 options for reporting water quality monitoring data for Solid Waste Facilities.

1. Electronic Reporting-- encouraged

2. Paper Reporting

There are 2 types of Electronic Reporting
Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs)- submitting only data electronically
  • Monitoring data-- can be submitted electronically on floppy diskettes or compact disc media readable by a Microsoft Windows computer.  Format-- tab delimited

  • Supporting documents-- can be submitted in paper format.

Electronic Groundwater Monitoring Report- entire submission electronic-- NO paper

  •  Monitoring data-- can be submitted electronically on floppy diskettes or compact disc media readable by a Microsoft Windows computer.  Format-- tab delimited

  • Supporting documents-- can be scanned and submitted along with the data file.

What will DEP do with electronic data?
  • Electronic submittals enable the Department to use electronic-tool called "Validator" to validate data and to check for rule compliance.

  • Then, the validated data are uploaded into the Department computer database called Water Assurance Compliance System, WACS.

About Validator
  • Software developed by DEP

  • Two-folded data evaluation program

  • Sample integrity

  •  Compliance with state standards

Why electronic reporting?
  •  More efficient for facilities to submit data electronically.  No more paper or less paper to mail or file.

  •  Automatic upload to DEP database

  •  Reduces data entry errors

  • Speeds processing and review of data
