What on Earth Can
You Do?
Use Less Stuff
less
water--less fuel--less
packaging--less around
the house
-
Turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth.
-
Turn off the water when washing your hands.
-
Put a bottle of water in the refrigerator to keep a cold
drink handy. Don’t run the water in the tap until it’s
cold!
-
Use cloth bags to haul groceries and other items.
-
Buy loose fruit and vegetables rather than prepackaged
produce.
-
Only buy as much food as you really expect to eat –
spoiled food takes up space at the landfill.
-
Buy cereal in big plastic bags.
-
Buy dry pet food
-
Turn off the lights, TV and radio when not in use.
-
Close the curtains to keep heat in – in winter – and
sunlight out – in summer.
-
Open the windows to let in a breeze.
-
Donate unwanted toys, clothes, etc., to the Salvation Army,
Goodwill or homeless shelter.
Using less stuff saves money and
saves energy –
That’s “what on earth” you
can do!
