About Waste Cleanup

The mission of the program is to oversee cleanup of contaminated sites in order to protect public health and the environment. The Waste Cleanup Program is responsible for managing the cleanup of contaminated sites through voluntary actions by a Person Responsible for Site Rehabilitation and through enforcement actions by the Department.  These sites include Dry Cleaners, Brownfield designated sites, and sites regulated by Chapter 62-780, Florida Administrative Code, (F.A.C.) the Global Risk Based Corrective Action rule.
