Description

The Apalachicola Reserve invites you to celebrate National Estuaries Day from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 26 at the Apalachicola Nature Center, located at 261 Seventh Street, Apalachicola, FL. Bring the family and join us for a fun and educational day. Activities will focus on the importance of our estuaries and the need to protect them.

Events will include boat tours (children must be 8 or older), guided nature trail walks, children's activities including a cast netting game, wacky waterfront race, and arts and crafts. There will be touch tanks, live reptiles on display, door prizes for adults and more! Door prizes are from local vendors. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is FREE.

There will be a poster and essay contest for Franklin County students. Entries will be on display at the Apalachicola Nature Center from September 22-24 to be judged. Entries must be turned in to teachers by September 18. The winners of the contest will be announced and receive awards during National Estuaries Day.

Hurry in, free T-shirts will be given to the first 500 attendees!
