- Environmental Education Center Guided Visit
Exhibit volunteer guides will help you learn about the importance of
the estuary and the GTM Research Reserve’s role in protecting our
coastal resources. Examine live and replica inhabitants of the local
estuary and watch an informative 20 minute video about the reserve.
Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more. Visit the Nature
Store for books, GTM Research Reserve clothing, and artwork by local
artists.
- Environmental Education Center or
Recreational Area Self-Guided Visit
Visit the Environmental Education Center or hiking trails. Trail
maps and exhibit hall scavenger hunts are available for use. Groups
of 10 or more are required to have reservations, and reserve
volunteers may be available to assist your group. Visit the Nature
Store for books, GTM Research Reserve clothing, and artwork by local
artists.

Bag Lunch Presentations
Bring your lunch to the Environmental Education Center Auditorium on the first
Friday of each month for a presentation by a reserve
staff member or volunteer. A wide variety of topics are offered.
- Nature Walks/Talks & Bike Rides
Join reserve staff and volunteers on an exploratory walk or bike ride
through coastal habitats or search for a specific inhabitant of the
ecosystem. Programs include bird walks, beach and upland
habitat discovery walks, and many more!

Creature Feature
Learn about a unique reserve animal and its habitat and participate
in estuary animal interaction sessions every first and third
Saturday at the Environmental Education Center.

Family Fun Hour
Round up the little ones and bring them to the reserve the third
Wednesday of each month at 2:30 pm. Events feature a story and are
followed by a fun craft activity for participants to take home.
Reservations are required.
- Ecology
Explorer for Kids
This class is for kids age 6 to 9 the third
Sunday of every month. Kids will learn about food chains,
habitats and the wildlife found at the reserve. Reservations are
required.
