Alliance to Save Energy   The Alliance is a non-profit coalition of prominent businesses, government, environmental, and consumer leaders that promote clean and efficient use of energy worldwide.

Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC)   The AFDC collects operating information from vehicles (in programs sponsored by the Alternative Motor Fuels Act ) running on alternative fuels, analyzes the data, and makes the results available to the public. The AFDC also maintains information on research conducted for both the Biofuels Systems Division and the Fuel Utilization Data and Analysis Division of the DOE Office of Alternative Fuels. The site contains a tremendous amount of data on a wide spectrum of alternative fuels, programs and research.

American Solar Energy Society The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is a national organization dedicated to advancing the use of solar energy for the benefit of U.S. citizens and the global environment. ASES promotes the widespread near-term and long-term use of solar energy.

Center for Energy and Technology of the Americas  The Center for Energy and Technology of the Americas (CETA) performs academic research, policy analysis, technology development and deployment, and student training with the goal of increasing the development and reliability of energy supplies, and improving energy efficiency throughout the Western Hemisphere all within the framework of environmental sustainability.

Clean Cities   Clean Cities is a locally-based government and industry partnership, coordinated by the U.S. Department of Energy to expand the use of alternatives to gasoline and diesel fuel. This web site includes information on: The Road to Getting Started; who to call (DOE, Clean Cities Coordinators; State Energy offices, etc); list of Clean Cities; newsletters, success stories, laws and incentives, vehicle fleet buyer's guide, refueling sites, and much more.  A must visit site for those interested in increasing municipal government involvement. 

Disaster Recovery and Building Reconstruction  developed by the  U.S. Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Program (BTP) in the wake of Gulf Coast hurricanes last fall. The site contains a wide variety of national, regional and local resources for state and local officials, builders, and consumers, as well as information on available training and workshops.

Electric Drive Transportation Association  The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) is a trade association promoting battery, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles and infrastructure.

Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Network (EREN)   This is a U.S. Department of Energy site. EREN has loads of information, links, materials and the latest information on renewable energy. A must visit site.

Energy Gauge Program (Florida Solar Energy Center)   This program is a rating system program that provides a uniform, statewide system for rating homes and commercial structures and provides buyers with a realistic measure of how energy efficient construction improvements amplify property values.

Energy Kids Page  Developed by the Energy Information Administration, the Energy Kid’s Page provides energy facts, history, classroom activities and games related to learning about energy.

Energy Star Buildings  EPA’s Energy Star Buildings program is a voluntary energy-efficiency program for U.S. commercial buildings. The Energy Star Building program focuses on profitable investment opportunities available in most buildings using proven technologies.

Energy Information Administration (EIA)   The Energy Information Administration compiles data on production and consumption of energy worldwide. It also provides data on environmental effects for the use of the different sources of energy. Lots of data. CD-ROM available that is compendium of EIA's national energy databases, publications, directories, and software applications. For the serious researcher.
 

Environmental Protection Agency  Learn about global warming and what it means for you. You will find information on: Science of Global Warming, Projected Impacts, International and U.S. Government Policies and Programs, Latest Developments and more.

EPA Fact Sheets  Should You Have the Air Ducts In Your Home Cleaned? is intended to help consumers answer this often confusing question. The guide explains what air duct cleaning is, provides guidance to help consumers decide whether to have the service performed in their home, and provides information for choosing a duct cleaner, determining if duct cleaning was done properly, and how to prevent contamination of air ducts.

Florida Center for Renewable Chemicals and Fuels  The Florida Center for Renewable Chemicals and Fuels (FCRC) promotes the creation of biorefineries that use renewable products from agriculture as feedstocks to replace petroleum-based products.

Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC)  FGBC is a nonprofit Florida Corporation dedicated to improving the built environment.  Its mission is "to provide a statewide Green Building program with environmental and economic benefits.

Florida  Hydrogen Initiative  The Florida Hydrogen Initiative (FHI) is a non-profit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Florida to move Florida to the forefront of the nation’s hydrogen economy.

Florida Public Service Commission    Florida Public Service Commission is the state agency charged with regulating public utilities in the state including: electric and gas utilities, telephone companies, and water and wastewater systems.  The site has comprehensive information about the current commission and its members, the PSC annual report and consumer information and education. Includes a calendar of all dockets.

Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC)    The FSBDC provides quality business and economic assistance to existing businesses and prospective business owners and operators. The FSBDC’s Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP) assists small business owners and operates to reduce energy consumption and related operating costs. It accomplishes this by using energy saving devices and energy efficiency methods.

Florida Solar Energy Center General Information   The Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) is regarded as the energy research institute of the State of Florida. The Center is nationally and internationally recognized for comprehensive programs in solar energy and energy efficiency. FSEC operates within the State University System, and is administered by the University of Central Florida.

Green Building Guidelines   A number of builders have worked to develop a comprehensive guidebook titled Green Building Guidelines: Meeting the demand for low-energy, resource-efficient homes to help home builders and others design “greener,” more energy- and resource-efficient homes.
The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the design, affordability, energy performance, and environmental soundness of residential, institutional and commercial buildings nationwide.

Hydrogen Cars   Features the latest hydrogen concept autos and other vehicles, hydrogen highway, fuel cell technology, ICE engines plus production and infrastructure issues.

Inventions and Innovations   The Inventions and Innovations program of the Office of Industrial Technology provides financial assistance a two levels: up to $40,000 or up to $100,000 depending on the stage of development - for establishing technical performance and and conducting early development of innovative ideas and inventions.  Ideas that have a significant energy saving impact and future commercial market potential are chosen for financial support through a competitive solicitation process.  In addition to financial assistance, ;this program offers technical guidance and commercialization support to successful applicants.

National Center for Appropriate Technology   With programs in energy, agriculture and communities, the National Center for Appropriate Technology provides information and access to sustainable technologies community-based approaches that can help improve the lives of economically disadvantaged people.

National Council for Science and the Environment  The National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE) has been working since 1990 to improve the science Environmental decisionmaking. NCSE is supported by nearly 500 academic, scientific, environmental, and business visit the website to learn more about the NCSE and their ongoing programs.

National Energy Assistance Directors' Association    The National Energy Assistance Directors' Association Outreach and Education project is sponsored by a consortium of state Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Programs. The goal is to support the development of high-quality outreach and educational materials to help low-income households sign up for energy bill payment, weatherization, and education programs.

National Institute of Standards and Technology    The NIST mission is to assist industry in the development of the technology needed to improve product quality, modernize manufacturing processes, ensure product reliability and facilitate rapid commercialization of those products based on new scientific discoveries.

National Technology Transfer Center (NTTC)    The National Technology Transfer Center's web page provides information on current, federally-financed technology being developed by NASA, the Department of Energy and others that can be used by businesses and individuals. The goal of NTTC is to take technologies off laboratory shelves and put them to work in every-day applications. Information on the training, business assistance, telemedicine, manufacturing and other information, including a search tool of NTTC's extensive database is available through this web page.

National Association of State Energy Officials  Affiliated with the National Governors’ Association, NASEO members are officials from the State and Territory Energy Offices and affiliates from the private and public sectors. The nonprofit association was created by the governors as an “instrumentality of the states” to improve the effectiveness and quality of state energy programs and policies, and to be a collector and repository of energy-related information. NASEO meetings and communications offer a forum for energy officials, policymakers and others to exchange information and discuss issues with regional and national implications.

Issues if concern to NASEO include electric and gas utility, transportation, buildings, research, economic development, environmental, energy efficiency, renewable energy and other energy-related matters.

North American Electric Reliability Council – Florida Reliability Coordinating Council (FRCC)   This website has important links to monitoring types and amounts of energy used throughout the state of Florida, as well as reports and publications. Their stated purpose is “to ensure and enhance the reliability and adequacy of bulk electricity supply in Florida, now and into the future”.

Office of Industrial Technologies (OIT)    The Alliance for Industrial Excellence integrates six programs in the OIT. This includes: Climate Wise, Industrial Assessment Centers, Inventions and Innovations, Motor Challenge and Steam Partnership. The OIT insures easy access to resources that meets industry needs.

Oikos  Oikos features a searchable database of companies manufacturing energy efficient, recycled, and low toxicity building products. On-line issues of Energy Source Newsletter and Energy Code software.

Passive Solar Industries Council  PSIC is the only U.S. industry association solely devoted to promoting energy conscious, solar-enhanced buildings and the products and services that go into them. Members are committed to high quality design and construction and consider whole building design--not just the individual building systems.

Project for an Energy Efficient Florida    Sponsored by the Florida Public Interest Foundation, this site includes information about the Foundation’s purposes and programs, including the Project for an Energy Efficient Florida. The Foundation provides services to non-profit organizations and also sponsors educational and other special projects.

Renewabale Energy Pollution Prevention  EPA has developed a new web site that provides information about the pollution prevention benefits of using renewable energy---solar, wind, biomass, hydro and geothermal energy. RESNET  The National Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) is national network of mortgage lenders, home builders, real estate firms, energy and housing professionals, home energy rating systems and utilities. The mission of the network is to improve the energy efficiency of the nation’s housing stock and quality more American Families for home ownership by expanding the availability of home energy ratings and energy mortgages. Services included a bi-weekly news brief, RESNET NOTES to keep users informed on the latest developments in the field of residential energy financing.

Space Coast Clean Cities Coalition  The goal of the Space Coast Clean Cities Coalition is to increase public awareness and understanding of the factors causing air pollution and the benefits and costs of using alternative fuel vehicles in East-Central Florida.

U.S. Office of Industrial Technology    The Office of Industrial Technology creates partnerships among industry, trade groups, government agencies, and other organizations.
