- The Environmental Education Center
GTM Research Reserve’s Environmental Education Center
(EEC) provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for people of
all ages to learn about the many functions of the coastal and estuarine ecosystem and the natural history of
Northeast Florida.
- K-12 School Programs and
Teacher Development
Students have the opportunity to visit the Environmental
Education Center and Guana River Marsh Aquatic
Preserve as an extension of their classroom learning. Field trip programs have been developed for
2nd grade, 4th grade,
7th grade and high school.

- Community and Adult
Education Programs
A variety of educational activities and programs are available at the GTM Research Reserve. Seining, lectures, nature
walks, nature movies, laboratory and exhibit hall experiences, and craft sessions are among the many ways to
learn about the environment at GTM Research Reserve.
- Coastal Training Program
The Coastal Training Program (CTP) provides up-to-date scientific information and skill-building opportunities
to individuals responsible for making decisions that affect coastal resources. Primary issues are water
quality and quantity, land use density and intensity, shoreline management and coastal erosion.
