Corner of Tab Window Acquisition Program

The Florida Greenways and Trails Acquisition Program is a component of Florida Forever, receiving 1.5 percent of the annual appropriation.  This program has helped to acquire the land for all or part of several corridors in Florida's Priority Trails Network including:

  • Blackwater Heritage State Trail

  • Palatka-Lake Butler State Trail

  • Jacksonville-Baldwin Trail

  • Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail

  • Nature Coast State Trail

  • Suwannee River Greenway

  • Withlacoochee State Trail

  • General James A. Van Fleet State Trail

  • Cross Seminole Trail

  • West Orange Trail

  • Cady Way Trail

  • East Central Regional Rail Trail

  • Winter Haven to Lake Alfred Trail

  • Alachua 6th Street Rail Trail

  • Gainesville Downtown Connector

  • State Road 207 Mussallem Trailhead

  • St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge

Pursuant to the 2013-2017 Florida Greenways and Trails System (FGTS) Plan, the rule guiding the Florida Greenways and Trails Acquisition Program will be revised in 2013 to guide future acquisition funding to closing gaps in corridors on the FGTS Priority Trails Map.  For information about the status of that process, please contact Samantha Browne by email or phone at 850-245-2052.
