Notice of Fee Increase:

Effective May 1, 2007, certain user fees will increase at designated campgrounds on the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway. Per Florida Administrative Code Rule 62S-3.002(12), the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Greenways & Trails has established a new fee schedule as follows:

RV Sites (water & electricity hook-up):$22.00 per night plus tax
                                                        ($11.00 for 65+ w/valid FL DL
or proof of 100% Disability)

Primitive Campsites (Where Available): $12.00 per night plus tax
                                ($6.00 for 65+ w/valid FL DL
or proof of 100% Disability)

Boat Launch & Dump station: Free with paid camping

Dump Station (non-campers) $5.00

Boat Launch (non-campers)   $5.00

Prices do not include applicable sales tax.

Santos Trailhead & Campground

The Santos Trailhead and Campground day use area includes separate trailheads for hikers, bikers and equestrians and has picnic pavilions, potable water and restrooms.

The campground, which opened in April 2005, has 24 sites with fire rings, picnic tables, water and electric (20, 30 & 50 amps) hook-ups  It has a  bathhouse/restroom, picnic pavilions and a dump station.  A camp host resides in the campground year-round.

 

Directions to Santos Trailhead and Campground
Off I-75, take Exit 341 and head east on CR 484.  Go approximately 2 miles and turn left (north) on 475.  Take 475 north about 6 miles and turn right on SE 80th Street (east).   Go about 3 miles and the Santos Trailhead and Campground will be on your right.


 

Ross Prairie Campground

The Ross Prairie Campground day-use area has a large paved parking lot with a picnic pavilion, restrooms and a horse wash rack. The campground, which is very popular with equestrians, has 15 pull-thru sites with water and electric; 5 sites have 50-amps, and 10 sites have 30-amps.  A bathhouse/restroom, dump station and two horse wash racks are located in the campground. A camp host resides at the campground year-round.  There are miles of hiking and equestrian trails.  Picnic tables and fire rings will be located at each campsite very soon.

 

Directions to Ross Prairie Trailhead and Campground
Off
I-75, take the Belleview/Dunnellon exit in Ocala, Exit #341 (CR 484). Take CR 484 and go west on CR 484 approximately 10 miles.  Turn left at stoplight, Hwy 200 and go South about 2 miles.  The campground will be on your left.


 

Rodman Campground

Rodman Campground is a 69 site camping area with a boat launch to access the reservoir.  43 Campsites are available with power and water hook-ups or 26 primitive sites are available for “roughing” it.
 

Directions to Rodman Campground
FROM I-75 (Traveling North), take SR 40 (Silver Springs Blvd.) east through Ocala and Silver Springs to Hwy 315. Turn north on 315 and travel about 25 miles to Hwy 310. Turn east on 310 for about 5 miles until it ends at SR 19.  Turn right and go over the Florida Barge Canal Bridge. Turn right onto Rodman Road at the foot of the bridge.   Rodman Campground is approximately 3 miles on the right.

TO GO TO RODMAN CAMPGROUND, turn right on 19, go over the Cross Florida Barge Canal Bridge and then turn right on Rodman Dam Road.  The campground and dam are about 3 miles down this road.
