The Felburn Foundation Boundless Playground at the Marjorie Harris
Carr Cross Florida Greenway

This specially designed Boundless Playground
provides recreational and educational opportunities for children with and without disabilities.
A Boundless Playground contains elements that provide recreational and educational
opportunities for children of all abilities. Simple differences include
a poured-in-place rubber surface, ramps on the play sets, elevated sand
table and activity panels and swings and bouncers with high-back
support.
Made possible by a generous donation from The Felburn
Foundation, the playground was built by DEP’s Office of Greenways &
Trails and is operated and maintained by
Marion County at the
Baseline
Road Traihead.

“By bringing together
children of all abilities, we foster self confidence and a sense of
belonging while cultivating new friendships,” said APD Director Shelly
Brantley. “When individuals of all abilities come together – whether in
work, living or play – we all win.”
Florida’s greenways and
trails provide a wide array of healthy recreational opportunities for
citizens, and this new playground allows all children to enjoy the
state’s premier greenway.
