Notes:
All trails on the island are unpaved and are shared by hikers, bikers
and equestrians. Please follow appropriate trail etiquette for shared
trails. For equestrian access, please contact the West Region Field
Office to make prior arrangements.
Boat
launches at Inglis Dam Recreation Area and the Florida Marine Patrol
Station provide access to Lake Rousseau and the Withlacoochee River/Cross
Fla. Barge Canal. There are also several bank-fishing spots in the
area for both fresh and saltwater fishing.
Improvements
to the recreational facilities in this area will be taking place
during 2002. Among the additions, potable water and restrooms are
scheduled to be available at Inglis Dam Recreation Area by early
2003. Contact the West Region Field Office for the current status
of these improvements.
Access/Directions:
Inglis Dam Recreation Area
- From
Crystal River, head north on US 19/98 approximately 5 miles until
you reach W Riverwood Drive. Take a right and follow W. Riverwood
Drive to the Inglis Dam Recreation Area.
- From
Inglis, head south on US 19/98 approximately 1/2 mile past the
barge canal bridge to Cornflower Drive (left hand side of road).
Take a left and follow to W. Riverwood Drive. Take another left
and follow W. Riverwood Drive to Inglis Dam Recreation Area.
