Ochlockonee River (Upper) Canoe Trail
The Ochlockonee River (Upper) Canoe Trail is officially designated as part of Florida’s Statewide System of Greenways and Trails. Beginning near the Georgia line, the Upper Ochlockonee winds its way toward Lake Talquin. The river is shallow and often silty. Willow trees line this narrow river. During low water, there will be some portaging and pullovers. The woodlands along the river are home to wildlife common in the Panhandle, including deer, wild hog, opossum, raccoon, and many kinds of wading birds.
