Internal Investigations Section Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Internal Investigations Section (IIS) to provide attentive response to the concerns and inquiries of the public by way of accurate, impartial and relevant review, thereby advancing the principles of efficiency and integrity within the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
(DEP).
Internal Investigations Section Vision Statement It is the
vision of the Internal Investigations Section to establish a
work environment in which both management and subordinates
strive to have a workplace that is free of mismanagement, fraud
or misconduct and in which agency goals are pursued as a team.
DEP, like other state agencies, receives a variety of
complaints of alleged misconduct. The complaints may be broad in
nature requiring the review of DEP practices, direction or
management, or may concern only one individual's actions.
Complaints may originate from the Office of the Chief Inspector
General (Whistle-blower complaints), the Florida Comptroller's
"Get Lean" hotline, individual divisions within DEP or from the
public. All complaints and follow-up activities are monitored
and tracked by IIS.
To file a formal complaint, call the Office of Inspector General
at (850) 245-3151 or use the
Complaint Form. [DOC -
