Biological Training
The Bureau of Laboratories has developed a training program for the Stream Condition Index (SCI). This
program was designed for agency and corporate trainers to implement into new and existing biological sampling programs. Below are essential background
documents required to successfully implement this program.
Lake Vegetation Index
Lake Vegetation Index Testing

Following DEP SOP FA4330, conduct LVI sampling at one of the lakes below between June 21 and July 21, 2010, and send results to
Nia Wellendorf by July 30, 2010. All lakes have public ramps and sampling maps are provided below.
Habitat Assessment Testing
Analysts performing Habitat Assessments are required to pass 3 out of 5 benchmark tests every two years.
Below are links to overviews of benchmark sites available for testing throughout the state, consisting of directions to and photos of the sites, as
well as instructions for completing the tests. Analysts should not test at the same sites twice, but new analysts can test at 2008 sites.
