What are the duties of Park Police?
Park Police are sworn State Law Enforcement Officers who have full powers of arrest and the authority to
enforce all state statues and administrative codes. These officers are usually assigned to one or more of
the parks within Florida’s award winning State Park System to provide for the safety and security of the
visitors and resources within parks, preserves, recreational areas, greenways and trails. They may be sent
anywhere in the state to respond in the event of hurricanes, civil disorder, or other threatening conditions
that may endanger life or property. Park Police Officers have the opportunity to be involved in environmental
crimes cases, archaeological resource protection cases and many other unusual types of law enforcement.
How can I get a Law Enforcement shoulder patch?
Law Enforcement shoulder patch displays are very popular among our web visitors. Although we are very proud
of our insignia, it is our policy to not disseminate patches.
