STATEWIDE RESPONSE BRIEFING SHEET
As of 6:00 AM EDT, July 11, 2005

County Evacuations

The following evacuations still remain in effect:

MANDATORY

  • Bay: Mandatory evacuation order for Category 1-4 evacuation zones.
  • Escambia: Mandatory evacuation order for low-lying coastal areas, areas along waterways, Perdido Key, Pensacola Beach, Innerarity Point, mobile homes, recreational vehicles.
  • Franklin: Mandatory evacuation order for barrier islands, Alligator Point, low lying areas and mobile homes.
  • Gulf: Mandatory evacuation order for non-residents, Category 1 areas and Cape San Blas.
  • Okaloosa: Mandatory evacuation order of Category 4 zone, Barrier Islands, and low lying areas. 48,000 people have evacuated.
  • Pinellas: Voluntary evacuation for mobile homes and low lying areas.
  • Santa Rosa: Mandatory evacuation order of Category 4 zone, Navarre Beach, campgrounds and mobile homes
  • Sarasota: Mandatory evacuation order for low lying areas.
  • Wakulla: Mandatory evacuation for coastal areas. Voluntary evacuations for residents of Wakulla County.
  • Walton: Mandatory evacuation order for all low-lying areas, mobile homes and recreational vehicles south of Highway 20.

VOLUNTARY

  • Calhoun: Voluntary evacuation order for mobile homes and low-lying areas.
  • Gilchrist: Detour on HWY 26 between CR 341 and CR 314. CR 313N to CR 334 W to CR 341S. HWY 26 closed due to large sinkhole.
  • Hardee: Voluntary evacuation order for mobile homes and low-lying areas.
  • Highlands: Voluntary evacuation order for mobile homes and low-lying areas.
  • Holmes: Voluntary evacuation for mobile homes, manufactured homes, RVs and homes in low lying areas.
  • Washington: Voluntary evacuation order for mobile and manufactured homes.

County Re-Entry

  • Monroe: Please monitor local sources to determine safe re-entry. Proof of residence required for closed areas, otherwise no restrictions.

Shelters

  • General Shelters: 32; Population: 5,413
  • Special Needs Shelters: 8; Population: 449 (Per 8:00 a.m. DOH update)

  • Lower Keys Medical Center Closed (Monroe County) Sacred Heart – Emerald Coast Medical Center Closed (Walton County)

Power Outages

Toll Status

Tolls are suspended on the following roadways:

  • Tolls remain suspended on the Mid-Bay and Garcon Point Bridges in Florida’s panhandle until further notice.

Road/Bridge Closures

  • Escambia Bay Bridge (I-10) is closed on both east and west bound lanes.
  • Franklin County St. George Island Bridge closed and Hwy 98 between Apalachicola and East Point.
  • Okaloosa County – Hwy 98 closed from Destin to Okaloosa Island. Mid Bay Bridge between Blue water and Destin.
  • Gulf County reports numerous roads closed including Indian Pass Road. Extensive Damage at Cape San Blas.
  • Wakulla County coastal roads flooded. Part of HWY 98 closed.
  • Liberty County HWY 67 from F-H 13 to Liberty/Leon County line closed.
  • Washington County has numerous roads closed.
  • Walton County - HWY 331 Bridge remains closed pending DOT inspection. Scenic Gulf Drive HWY 30-A at Oyster Lake closed, County HWY 30-A at Fort Panic closed, Choctawhatchee Bay bridge closed.

Airports (as of 2300hrs 7/10/05)

Public-use and military airfields in Florida are "CLOSED" for the periods shown:

  • Duke Field (EGI), Okaloosa County, currently closed until 7/11/05
  • Hurlburt Field (HRT), Okaloosa County, currently closed until further notice
  • Okaloosa Regional (VPS), joint-use facility with Eglin AFB, Okaloosa County, currently closed to commercial flights and military operations until 7/12/05
  • Panama City - Bay County International (PFN), Bay County, currently closed until further notice Pensacola NAS - Forrest Sherman Field (NPA), Escambia County, currently closed Pensacola Regional (PNS), Escambia County, currently closed until further notice; needs one (1) portable 60 KVA generator, being requested through county EOC
  • Tallahassee Regional (TLH), Leon County, currently open to general aviation and military operations (aircraft pre-positioning and staging for hurricane relief support), however, all commercial flights have been terminated until further notice
  • Tyndall AFB (PAM), Bay County, currently closed until 7/12/05
