The Bureau of Invasive Plant Management is charged with
controlling invasive aquatic plants in Florida's 450 public
water bodies, covering 1.25 million acres of fresh water.
Using the latest biological, mechanical and herbicidal management
techniques, scientists reduce invasive plants to the lowest
possible levels while conserving and protecting native plant
and animal communities, human health and property. The Bureau
also oversees the Upland Invasive Plant Management Funding
