Front Porch Florida is an exciting new opportunity for community revitalization. This initiative relies on many partners to accomplish neighborhood improvement goals set by the communities.

High-level state agency representatives and private sector companies dedicated to the Front Porch Initiative provide a wide variety of technical and financial assistance to identified communities.

As one of nineteen state agency partners, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection has established a team of Front Porch contacts representing DEP’s regulatory, recreation and land management programs. Following community meetings and site visits, DEP liaisons have developed action plans to provide communities with technical assistance and to assist with funding for the revitalization plan.

DEP's Northeast District is actively working with the Duval Heights neighborhood in East Gainesville and the Sherwood Forest Community in North Jacksonville.
