Northeast District - Waste Management Programs

Waste Cleanup Section

The waste cleanup section oversees cleanup of hazardous (non-RCRA / non-petroleum) contamination of soil and groundwater. It also serves as the technical resource for review of contamination assessment plans and reports submitted to the solid and hazardous waste sections as well as interim remedial and remedial action plans.

The waste cleanup section is also responsible for writing the groundwater conditions for solid waste permits and is also involved with certain industrial waste projects and storm-water permits.

Note that cleanup of PETROLEUM contamination is managed by the tanks section.

Section Supervisor, Richard S. Rachal, P.G., (904) 807-3248
