The benefits of environmental protection, habitat restoration, and conservation are experienced as visitors tour Project Greenshores and learn how the characteristics of oyster reefs and salt marshes contribute to local water quality and productivity.
Zachary Schang explains the importance of native marsh grasses, such as Smooth Cordgrass (Spartina alterniflora), for habitat stability and aquatic life at Project GreenShores. Stone Crabs (above), Pufferfish (below, left) and a Spider Crab (below, right) are examples of aquatic species that can be found within the saltmarsh habitat at Project GreenShores.
