The Grants Section administers grants to local governments through the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP)
and the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). These are competitive grant programs which provide grants for acquisition or
development of land for public outdoor recreation.
FRDAP is a competitive grant program that provides financial assistance to local governments for development or acquisition of
land for public outdoor recreational purposes. All county governments and municipalities in Florida and other legally constituted
local governmental entities with the legal responsibility for the provision of outdoor recreational sites and facilities for the
use and benefit of the public are eligible. The maximum grant request may not exceed $200,000. FRDAP application packets are
available at the Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation and Parks, Office of Information and Recreation
Services, Mail Station #585, 3900 Commonwealth Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL 32399-3000. For more information, call (850) 245-2501,

ATTENTION:
Unfortunately, the Legislature and Governor did not allocate
funding toward the FRDAP program
this coming fiscal year
July 1, 2009-June 30, 2010.
Therefore, no projects submitted for FY 2009-2010 (no matter the
scoring) will be funded this time round. Applicants who submitted
projects for the 2009-2010 grant cycle are being given the choice of
rolling-over their current submittals to the 2010-2011 grant cycle and
leaving the standing score as is or conversely, presenting a brand new
application during the submission period. The Office of Information &
Recreation Services will be hosting our
2010-2011
Application Submission Cycle and accepting applications the weeks of
September 1-15, 2009, in hopes that funding will be provided next FY 2010-2011, TBD Spring
