On behalf of our more than 1,000 Florida Park Service employees and
our 6,000 volunteers, welcome to Florida’s system of exceptional state
parks. Florida’s award-winning state park system covers more than
600,000 acres throughout the state, from Pensacola in the Northwest, to
Fernandina Beach in the Northeast, and south to Key West.
The most striking thing about Florida’s state park system is its
diversity—there are world-class beach parks, springs parks, river and
lake parks, historic and cultural sites, island parks, even a park with
a waterfall and another with fascinating underground caves.
Our parks offer every type of recreation and a variety of
accommodations, including 3300 campsites at our 50 camping parks and 124
vacation cabins in 11 of our parks. Most camping parks now allow pets.
Campsite and cabin reservations can be made with one toll-free call to
1-800-326-3521, or online at
www.ReserveAmerica.com.
Besides enjoying your favorite form of resource-based recreation when
you visit our parks, you can also learn more about Florida’s natural
areas and rich history. Throughout the state, our museums, geological
and archaeological sites reflect Florida’s natural and cultural heritage
throughout past centuries. Best of all, these public lands are preserved
forever under management by the Florida Park Service for enjoyment by
this and future generations of Floridians and visitors.
Enjoy your visit to Florida State Parks, and please be sure to let
any member of our staff know if we can be of assistance in any way.
Sincerely,
Mike Bullock, Director
Florida Park Service
