Greenway's Visitors Center To Celebrate Grand Opening


-- Fun, food, games for all --

PALATKA -- Jena Brooks, director of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Greenways & Trails, will join local officials in announcing the grand opening of the Visitors Center on the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

Festivities will include demonstrations by blacksmiths and woodcarvers and old-fashioned outdoor activities such as jump rope, hopscotch and a pumpkin relay race. Participants are encouraged to wear fashions from the era. Area schools will provide coffee, baked goods, hot dogs and barbecue to raise funds for school activities.
