Rodman Campground Temporarily Closed

--OGT Improving Facility During Drawdown
--

The Office of Greenways & Trails (OGT) will close Rodman Campground on the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway from January 2 through the remainder of the ongoing drawdown, a resource management process used to maintain the ecological health of the reservoir system. The campground will remain closed through March 15 or until water levels at Rodman Reservoir are high enough to allow public access to the campground boat ramp.  OGT begin the drawdown of Rodman Reservoir in November; in early March, OGT will begin raising the water level.  The reservoir should return to its normal level by mid-April.

While the campground is closed, OGT will perform maintenance and management activities to improve the campground site.  Projects include a new gate entrance station, repairs to lime rock road, and a controlled burn.

If you have questions or comments, please contact the Office of Greenways & Trails main field office in Ocala at (352) 236-7143.

Additional campground facilities information is available by contacting the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce at (386) 328-1503, or the US Forest Service at (352) 625-2520.

We appreciate your cooperation and consideration, and apologize for any inconvenience.
