Emergency Beach Clean up Authorized by DEP

TALLAHASSEE -- In response to Tropical Storm Isidore, the Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Beaches and Wetland Resources has today issued a second emergency order authorizing beach clean ups for portions of St. Joseph Peninsula in Gulf County. Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa County were included in the first emergency final order issued on Friday, September 27, 2002.

The emergency order authorizes local governments to issue permits to private and public property owners for minor activities necessary to remove debris, return sand to the beach and repair surviving dune walkovers seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line.
