Plant City Man Sentenced For Falsifying Environmental Records

TAMPA -- After an extensive investigation led by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Division of Law Enforcement, Jeffrey Englin, 46, of Plant City, was sentenced in Hillsborough County Circuit Court to one year of probation and 50 hours of community service for falsifying used oil transportation documents.

Englin, a driver with International Petroleum Corporation of Plant City, was charged with 50 misdemeanor counts for falsifying over 50 transportation manifests. Accurate manifests are required under Florida law.

Agents from DEP’s Division of Law Enforcement conducted a14-month investigation after several falsified documents were found during a regulatory inspection. The United States Environmental Protection Agency assisted with the investigation.
