Recovery
--Authorization provides additional 60 days for
restoration—
TALLAHASSEE- Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Colleen
M. Castille today signed a Consolidated
Emergency Final Order for Hurricanes
Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. The Order extends the regulatory relief
provided by previous Emergency Final Orders issued following each hurricane’s
landfall.
The emergency authorization applies to governments, businesses and property
owners across impacted counties, allowing rebuilding of damaged structures
without prior Department notification.
Field authorizations are required to replace destroyed structures; alter
mangroves; restore uplands, wetlands and submerged lands unless done by a local,
regional or State government; and for other DEP-authorized activities not
specified in the Order.
