Statement from Florida Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Michael W. Sole Regarding Legislation filed today by Senator Bill Nelson and Congressman Allen Boyd for Basin-Wide Assessment of the Apalachicola River Basin

“We appreciate the leadership of Congressman Boyd and Senator Nelson filing their legislation to further protect the Apalachicola River and Bay - all along, while we have understood that the Army Corps of Engineers’ focus is on the Endangered Species Act, we have said repeatedly that the entire ecosystem deserves to be both considered and protected.”
