Have a Ho-Ho Holiday at Florida State Parks
It’s the holiday season and visiting one of Florida’s
state parks special events can certainly put one in the
holiday spirit. There are several to choose from – each
with a different twist – so why not take the whole
family to one or more of these exciting holiday
festivities.
Northwest Florida
Camellia Christmas 2007, Alfred B. Maclay Gardens
State Park
Friday, December 7th, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The old fashion holiday kick-off features a candlelight
stroll through the gardens and live music by local
performers while sipping hot apple cider and munching on
holiday cookies served by the park staff and volunteers.
The Maclay House will be open and decorated for the
holidays and a silent auction will include items donated
by local merchants.
Holiday Cruise and Dinner, Edward Ball Wakulla
Springs State Park
Saturday, December 8th, 5 p.m.
Enjoy an evening cruise on the Wakulla River followed by
dinner in the Wakulla Lodge and an old-fashioned
sing-a-long by the Christmas tree.
Christmas In The Park, Big Lagoon State Park
Friday & Saturday, December 14th & 15th, 4 p.m. to
10 p.m.
Big Lagoon State Park and the Friends of Big Lagoon/Perdido
Key State Park, Inc. will host 'Christmas in the Park'
to thank visitors for their support throughout the year.
Enjoy beautiful Christmas lights and decorations while
awaiting the arrival of Santa Claus at 6 p.m. both
evenings, along with other holiday entertainment.
Candlelight Tour, Eden Gardens State Park
Saturday, December 22nd, 5 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Eden Gardens State Park and the Friends of Eden are
hosting a holiday tour featuring a traditional walk
through the luminaries to the historic Wesley House
amongst the beautiful Christmas decorations. Once
inside, visitors will be greeted by ladies dressed in
period clothing and serenaded by two accomplished
harpists. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends
of Eden following the tour. ...more
