Attention, Customers … DEP’s Online Survey is ‘Open for Business’!
During my past 16 years of public service – all with the
Florida Department of Environmental Protection – I have
witnessed “sea changes” in how we serve the state’s
residents and businesses. The dawning of the Internet
alone has allowed for an exponential achievement in
processing paperwork related to regulatory permits, and
in the vast array of reports and information we can
offer on our Web site for review “on demand.” On behalf
of my colleagues, the Florida Department of
Environmental Protection (DEP) now invites you to embark
on our first-ever online customer service survey.
One of the goals I set this time last year, when I accepted
the honor from Governor Charlie Crist of leading the DEP,
was to not only measure our agency activities but find a
more direct and user-friendly mechanism where the public
we serve can offer proactive and cogent ideas for our
future. Separately, the DEP also is building a
meaningful “performance metrics” design with my
oversight. That effort by the leadership team of DEP is
in addition to more “big picture,” public-friendly
measurements we have helped implement through Governor
Crist’s initiative captured at
www.floridaperforms.com.
I am truly pleased that the DEP recently launched our
first-ever online survey to give you, our public, a new,
simple way to be an active part of our services. We
offer the survey on the main page of our Web site at
www.dep.state.fl.us, and we presently include a link
to the survey in all external e-mails from all agency
staff. Feedback from the survey will help the DEP gauge common
needs of today’s public and what information we might
provide with more ease. ...more
