In cooperation with the DEP, Florida’s Department of Management Services has developed a contract for reclaiming mercury from fluorescent and high intensity discharge (HID) lamps and mercury devices such as boat bilge pump switches, thermostats, thermometers and blood pressure gauges. The contract may be used by state governmental agencies and also by other governmental agencies or institutions (cities and counties; county household hazardous waste programs; school boards; etc.) throughout Florida.
