The National America Recycles Day 2011 was November 15, 2011. America Recycles Day focuses on the importance of recycling and buying products made with recycled content. By completing a
Pledge card,
Floridians committed to being better stewards of the environment. All pledge cards received were entered into a drawing to receive one of three $100.00 gift cards, courtesy of
Recycle Florida Today
or one of six $50.00 gift cards donated by
Publix Super Markets.

Creative Recycling Systems, Inc.,
Publix Super Markets and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection hosted the EIGHTH annual
Florida (K-12) Schools Recycling Pledge Card Contest.
This contest was designed to reward the three schools submitting the greatest number of pledges per capita. This was calculated by dividing the number of students
attending the school by the total number of pledges submitted by the school. The three winning schools received a refurbished computer, courtesy of Creative
Recycling Systems, Inc.

2011 K-12 Schools Recycling Pledge Card Contest
Over 6,500 students across Florida participated in the America Recycles Day (K-12) Pledge Card Contest.
The top three schools were:
The Magnolia School- Tallahassee, Florida
Cedar Key School- Cedar Key, Florida
Miami Palmetto High School- Miami, Florida
