Proposed Rule Development for the Underground Injection
Control Rule, Chapter 62-528, F.A.C.
The Department is revising Florida’s Underground Injection Control
(UIC) rule.
The proposed rule revision will consist of the following:
- The Department is adding one word, “only” to the definition of
municipal well in Rule 62-528.200(45), F.A.C. The definition is being
amended to be clear that only fluids that had first passed through the
head of the permitted domestic wastewater treatment facility may be
injected through the well in order for the injection well to be classified
as a municipal injection well. The Department does not believe this
changes the intent of the definition.
This webpage will provide updates on the Department’s rulemaking efforts.
All stakeholders and interested parties are encouraged to participate in the
Department’s rulemaking efforts. Please check back to this website for
updates.
