Everglades Technical Advisory Committee

Under the Everglades Forever Act, the Department is required to develop a rule setting forth a numeric phosphorus criterion (or criteria) for the Everglades Protection Area. The purpose of the Everglades Technical Advisory Committee was to review and comment on the Everglades research and monitoring in support of this process, and to identify and resolve issues related to the process. The Committee consisted of 18 people from outside agencies that the Department chose based on their technical knowledge, expertise, and interest in Everglades restoration.
