Clean Water Act 

EPA Water Quality Standards - Nutrient Criteria - EPA's clearinghouse for all things related to nutrient criteria including agency directives, guidance documents, ambient water quality criteria recommendations, and access to the National Nutrient Database.

FDEP Bioassessment Program - information about Florida's biological assessment program and efforts towards the development of biological criteria for Florida's waterbodies.

A Beginner's Guide to Water Management - University of Florida's Cooperative Extension Service / Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences and Florida LAKEWATCH have produced a number of brochures and circulars related to water quality and lake management including a general glossary of limnological terms and concepts (Circular 101) and more focused guides to understanding the role of nutrients (Circular 102) and water clarity (Circular 103) in Florida's waterbodies.

Understanding Lake Ecology - University of Minnesota provides a useful primer on limnology, nutrient dynamics, trophic states and ecoregions through its Water on the Web program.
